Always check your roof in early spring and late fall.
Things to do or look for:
- Loose shingles
- Curling, fraying and/or tearing at the edges of the shingles
- Loose shake shingles
- Missing or damaged tiles
- Damaged flashings around chimneys, vents, skylights and other roof penetrations
- Cluttered or dirty gutters and downspouts
- Leakage or rot of the fascia boards near the joints of all eaves and metal
- Tree branches on the roof
If you notice any signs of wear, call an experienced professional for a more thorough inspection. (Do not walk on the roof; this can do serious damage to the structure and you also could injure yourself.)
